What is a root canal?
Before we discuss in depth what root canal treatment is, it is imperative that we understand the anatomy of a tooth. Every tooth has three layers. The outer hardest one is the enamel which covers the second soft layer; which is dentin. In the center is the soft tissue called the pulp which contains the blood vessels and nerves which nourish the tooth.
